The Deirdre O’Mara School of Irish Dance is the perfect blend of a competitive and noncompetitive Irish dance school. The option is available for either curriculum you choose for your child, and you can move between the two with ease. In addition to Irish dance, ballet and yoga classes are also offered. I have total trust and confidence in my child’s wellbeing and dance career under the care of Deirdre and her wonderful staff. She has brought her from a non-dancer to an Open Champion level dancer. Happy child, happy dancer.

My daughter started dancing in the Deidre O’Mara school when she was only 3 years old. Three years later Rory not only remains interested and excited to go to class each week, she is becoming more confident in her dancing and looks forward to class each week. This is attributed directly to the teachers at the school. Each are caring and engaging but also firm to help these kids learn a skill and stay healthy. As a parent I really appreciate how flexible Deidre is with scheduling and costs. I also value the fact Rory has the flexibility to grow and learn at her own speed. I feel like we are apart of something bigger vs. just taking a class. I look forward to many more years with the Deidre O’Mara school!

My daughter began dancing at Scoil Rince Saoirse 6 years ago on a whim – a neighbor suggested our girls try it. She loved it almost immediately as opposed to other dance forms she had tried. When I asked her why she liked it, she told me it was “more bouncy and the teachers are nice” pretty accurate assessment for my then 4 year old. She started doing the steps at home almost non stop and to this day she will still skip – 2 – 3 all the way to school. Over the years the school and my daughter progressed – the school, growing in size and skill of instruction and my daughter from a recreational to competitive dancer. But, one thing has always remained and this is a genuine love of dance. SRS is a warm and welcoming school weather you are there for fun or competition. The school has been and continues to be a great place for my daughter. She loves to dance and has learned so much more then just the steps. She has learned perseverance, group and team experiences, patience and respect. I can say that as a parent I appreciate the atmosphere of the school and parent body. The teachers are approachable and knowledgeable and the parents are helpful and kind to each other. It is warm and inviting and a great place for not only the competitive dancers but for the littlest dancers as well. I look forward to the enrolling my two boys when they are old enough.
